Dicționar Apicol — Publishing & Marketing Platform

Dicționar Apicol had an existing audience and more than a decade of history within the Romanian beekeeping community, but the publishing process had previously been delayed several times.

The challenge was therefore not simply to build a website.

The platform had to rebuild trust through transparency, convert an existing social-media audience into an owned email audience, deliver useful content before the commercial launch and avoid making publication promises that could not yet be verified.

At the same time, the system needed to manage subscriber consent correctly, deliver the free resource automatically, track acquisition sources, support publication milestones and switch the entire conversion funnel from pre-launch to sales without requiring a new deployment.

I designed and developed a modular Laravel-based platform that centralizes the complete publishing and marketing funnel.

The public website uses a server-rendered architecture focused on speed, accessibility and SEO. Visitors can explore the book, follow publication milestones, access educational content and request the free Mini-Dicționar Apicol.

The lead generation system records first-touch attribution and marketing consent separately. Subscribers who opt into marketing go through a double opt-in process before entering automated email sequences.

A state-driven publication system controls what the public website communicates. During pre-launch, the primary CTA focuses on the free Mini-Dictionary and publication updates. Once verified retailer listings become available, the platform can transition to LIVE status and automatically replace pre-launch messaging with purchase-oriented calls to action.

The internal Filament administration panel provides operational control over subscribers, consent, publication milestones, lead magnets, email sequences, retailer links and content without requiring code changes.

Redis and Laravel Horizon manage background jobs and email workflows, PostgreSQL acts as the system of record, and Umami provides privacy-focused analytics without receiving personally identifiable subscriber data.

The architecture was deliberately designed as a modular monolith, allowing the platform to remain maintainable while supporting future expansion into SEO content, newsletters, additional publication campaigns and long-term community growth.
